Fürstenberg/Havel: a water town as your starting point
Fürstenberg is spread over several islands, with the Havel flowing right through town. From Marina Röblinsee you're quickly in the old town with cafés, restaurants and supermarkets. For your first leg, the quiet lakes next door are ideal: Baalensee, Schwedtsee, Menowsee, Ziernsee and Ellbogensee.
Routes on the Havel from Fürstenberg
North-east of Fürstenberg lies the Stolpsee with the village of Himmelpfort, known for its monastery and Christmas post office. Heading north, the Havel leads via Steinhavel and Priepert into the Mecklenburg small-lake region with Wesenberg and Mirow, and to the west towards Rheinsberg. If you prefer it quiet, stay a few days on the lakes around Fürstenberg and anchor in peaceful bays.
Good to know: locks and bridges
Along the way you'll pass locks such as Steinhavelmühle, which is easy to operate even for first-timers. Allow some waiting time there. Mind the clearance heights: Steinförde bridge approx. 3.90 m, Priepert bridge approx. 4.20 m.

Are there locks along the way?
Yes, for example the Steinhavelmühle lock. It's easy to operate even for first-timers, but allow some waiting time. Bridge clearances are approx. 3.90 m (Steinförde) and approx. 4.20 m (Priepert).
